Love the service and care we have gotten through the Doulas Institute! Jessica is super easy to communicate with and very flexible to find exactly what we need.

We have a 4 week old and are first time parents. We hired Michelle Clemer as a night doula for a week, and she was a life-saver! Both my husband and I were exhausted from waking up every 30 min-2 hours, and we got excellent nights of sleep. Michelle was super experienced and knew exactly how to calm our baby down immediately and how to care for her.

We had an amazing experience with Doula Institute and Jessica! Jessica was with us for about six weeks after our son was born and we couldn't be happier  - she is a natural with babies and was supportive throughout our time together. She was helpful with feeding, provided advice on all things newborn and always listened. Jessica also provided guidance for me as a first time mom which was comforting. We had the blessing of having Jesica as our Doula. Being  FTPs we were both nervous about labor and wanting the best for our baby. 
Jessica has this innate talent of putting everyone around her at ease. She is so personable and brings in humor when necessary. As a bonus, having dogs of her own, she was great around our dog.
All we needed to do was text her - whether it was for a question, in doubt about being in labor or actually going to the hospital - she was incredibly responsive. She is also very knowledgeable and if there was something we did not agree on she was open to understand our information sources and working with us on what we wanted.
Most importantly it felt like I had a sister or a mother when in labor, that was truly something thats not easy to come by. Doctors respected her and they worked together as a team. I will forever be grateful to have had her by my side.

Jessica is an incredibly kind, patient, attentive and thorough doula. I took one of her doula certification classes and was impressed by the breadth of experience  she shared, the safety and comfort of the space, and the specificity of the research-supported curriculum about proper care for newborns and mothers. She is respectful and mindful of boundaries, and she is always careful to listen to clients' concerns while being still being observant and supportive to both mamas' and babies' care. She is such a joy to be around, and the dedication and care with which she manages her team of doulas and approaches her own work is truly special. Jessica was the birth doula for both of my pregnancies. She was our Goldilocks doula - she struck the perfect balance of care and support for me and my husband. It was important to us to find someone who would help me in my desire to try for an unmedicated birth, but who would support me if I changed my mind during labor. I also wanted to work with someone who had a constructive mindset and approach about having a hospital birth. I was surprised during my doula search how many advocated for an adversarial approach to a hospital birth, with an us vs. them mentality. I wanted someone who would help me navigate the process but in a way that fostered trust with my care team. Jessica did that perfectly. 

She also did a wonderful job supporting me during my labor. She was so helpful in advising my husband on how to help me during my contractions as well as giving him a break when my labor dragged on. I was so so happy she was there to help us!

When I had my second baby, I knew that my first choice for a doula would be Jessica. Luckily, she was available even though my due date was close to New Year's. Again, she was amazing and provided the support I needed during my labor.

I started off with Amber and she was amazing. First off, I called in the middle of the night after my second night home with my twins she was able to make herself available that very same night. When she came in, she was able to help me organize the nursery better and also get and keep my kids on a schedule, even though they were only home for a few days. I also had twins, which were born three months early. You can imagine the degree of expertise she had to have to help me with them. After the first night, I feel completely comfortable going to sleep and not waking up until the morning. my twins were also on formulas because of their prematurity and she did this on her own. I didn't need to premix formula at all. She asked about expectations, and in the beginning I did not have any, but when I came up with things like bottle washing keeping them on a schedule, helping them with congestion and suctioning and things like that she did them perfectly fine on her own. Jess was our birth doula in October 2023 for the birth of our second child at Sequoia Hospital. I did not have a doula with my first delivery, which was an emergency C-section without experiencing labor. I really wanted a VBAC and to have the additional support from a doula for the second since I felt like I was going in as a first-time mom. 

Jess was referred to me by my postpartum doula, which told me she had a good reputation in the doula community. Jess was very open and warm in our first call and had supported several VBACs previously. She met my husband and me at our home twice before our due date to talk through the natural labor process and options we would have (e.g. pain medications). She checked in often via text to see how things were progressing toward the end of our pregnancy. The day of our delivery she arrived promptly after I was admitted to the hospital and it was very reassuring to hear her voice throughout the labor providing encouragement. The VBAC was successful and my labor was quick and uncomplicated, which I speculate was at least partially due to my mental state in knowing I had a doula on my team. She even took photos and videos of the birth process that I'm sure we will treasure. Jess made a postpartum visit a few days after the baby was born. 

Jess is a cheerful person who genuinely loves what she does. I was impressed at how focused she is on continuing her learning and education in birth work and working as a resource for other doulas in her own business.

Jessica was absolutely amazing to work with. She was extremely responsive and knowledgeable. And the biggest bonus is that she was an expert in dealing with Carrot Fertility, which made our lives so much easier. Her team is incredibly caring and we would definitely use them again in the future.
